Florida Pari-Mutuel Licenses
Gulfstream Park Security Officer Nitza Ramos at the Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering’s Gulfstream Park “State Office” is Waiting to Give You Your New Pari-Mutuel License!

Do you or your stable employees have an expired State of Florida temporary pari-mutuel license?  If you or anyone you know has been waiting to pick up your permanent pari-mutuel license from the Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering . . . they are HERE!

So wait no longer!  Come and pick up your permanent pari-mutuel license from Nitza Ramos (pictured) at Gulfstream Park in the State Office (right next to the Florida Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (FHBPA) office in the north parking lot behind the quarter pole chute, just to the east of the Pegasus Statue!)

If your Gulfstream Park identification card is expired as well, simply show your updated pari-mutuel license to get a new one issued!

What’s the difference between a license from the Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering and Gulfstream Park?  A whole lot!

Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering

The regulation of Thoroughbred horse racing is a function of Florida’s State government.

The government office responsible for that is the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.  Part of the “DBPR” includes the Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering, which is responsible for issuing pari-mutuel licenses.

Everyone who works at any pari-mutuel facility in Florida MUST obtain a pari-mutuel license and be fingerprinted.

The Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering maintains an office here at Gulfstream Park at which you can obtain a license and be fingerprinted (required).

Gulfstream Park

Activities at Gulfstream Park are regulated by the State of Florida, however the racetrack and the business itself are not the property of the State of Florida.  The identification card issued by Gulfstream Park is different than the one issued by the State of Florida.

Gulfstream Park’s Security Department handles the issuance of Gulfstream Park identification cards only.  Those needing a pari-mutuel license must go to the State Office (location given above).  There is no cost to Backstretch employees to get a Gulfstream Park identification card.

Those working on the Backstretch must have both a current pari-mutuel license from the State of Florida and a Gulfstream Park identification card issued by Gulfstream Park.
