FHBPA Salutes Javier Perez, September Groom of the Month
Javier Perez, from the Palm Meadows barn of Carlo Vaccarezza, was honored last week as the FHBPA “Groom of the Month.”
The 42 year old Perez, a native of Puerto Rico, has been employed in the Vaccarezza barn for the last 8 months. Prior to that he worked for Lilli Kurtenecz, also based at Palm Meadows.
According to assistant trainer Ulysses Matos, “Javier is a very calm and capable groom, a great horseman who arrives early every day and has the ability to work with any type of horse.”
Javier has a brother in the US, Luis, who is a leading rider at Finger Lakes in New York.
The FHBPA is pleased to add Javier Perez to the list of standout Grooms feted so far this year.
