The nationally acclaimed and lucrative Florida Sire Stakes program had a very strong showing in 2018 in terms of noticeable increases in FSS-eligibles and in field sizes for the core 2-year-old stakes races at Gulfstream Park, as well as an expansion to eleven stakes races for all ages between Gulfstream and Tampa Bay Downs.
The 2018 FSS 2-year-old stakes series at Gulfstream resulted in six fields averaging twelve horses per gate and a whopping 23.4% increase in handle over 2017 across the three FSS days at the track.
